TODAY’s RAMBLINGS:
Ok.. so i normally HATE reality TV.. except for TOP CHEF because i’m a foodie and a wannabe chef, so i love that show, that and Michael Voltaggio is so friggin FINE!! Cocky as hell, but damn he’s fly. There’s this MTV show called Jersey shore.. or Jersey House.. or whatever. Just a buncha kids in a summer home on th Jersey shore… and i swear to BUDDHA.. they’re sooooooo stupid! I’m watching it now as i type this, and this one chick is acting all sorts of drunk and sloppy. I mean.. really though how is that attractive??

Ok vent over! I just had to say something! Y’all know i ramble! I’ve been sitting on this look for the last few days, having taken the pictures but not having a chance to post them until now. Lagging hard on my last month before some bad ass RL work starts. Once again im pulling in some fo the kick ass items from 50Ls Black Friday sale. The top is from Pig and is mad adorable and short, but i paired it with these high-waisted skirt from Kenzie & Co. The boots from Pixel Mode are awesome and i don’t think my camera angle did them justice, I’m going to have to do another post them on. The purse.. O-M-G ADORE! I love Tres Blah purses and this was way too adorable to not sport.

I just realized how scatter-brain my post is at this moment, but i’ll just claim i’m tired because it’s late and.. umm.. yah, that’s it!

TODAY’s RAMBLINGS:
WOW! Is all I can say about Vive9’s new Grace Skins! I tend to wear my makeup the way I would in RL, smoky eyes and very lightly glossed lips or with very little color. I have huge lips (RL and SL lol) and color tends to make them overpower my face, but I couldn’t help loving this incredibly 40s Glam look. The dark cherry red lips paired with dark eyes would normally be too much for me, but somehow BluAbyss has found the perfect balance for them, plus i love the dark skin (I’m about that dark in RL) and appreciate that the makeup makes the skin tone practically SING! So a few days ago, I posted a really cute Artilleri dress that’s no longer available for purchase and feel a little bad about it. I said i’d post another Artilleri dress and here it is! I dig Antonia’s rockabilly style and I love her full and knee-length skirts. I think sometimes when we think sexy, we tend to think short, revealing and rather slutty, I remember I dated a guy in SL once, who got mad at me because I wouldn’t wear more revealing clothes (yea.. i know RIGHT!!), but wearing this Leopard print dress makes me feel like a Sex Kitten. It’s a definite date dress where you just want to be girly as hell and scorching hot. RAWWR!

You guys have to check this out! So yesterday I popped into game and as soon as I popped in, Josue sends me and IM.. and i’ll just post it because it’s funny as hell!!

TODAY’s RAMBLINGS:
I used to work retail many many years ago (freshman in college) and worked through 3 years of Black Friday.. and since that time, i refuse, absolutely REFUSE to run out shopping like a maniac for those limited time sales. I am just not that insane! That however didn’t stop me from doing the sales here in SL! I fought through the lag and ran over some heifers to get towards what i wanted, i did the 50Ls Friday sales as well as other stores and i came away with too much and spent even more! I’m holding myself down from posting all the 50L Friday goodies right away, mainly because everyone has done them already, I plan on incorporating them into my everyday look (swear this blog is my excuse to shop) as always so you’ll be seeing them float around from time to time.

I, however, couldn’t stop myself from posting about the Cape Cod skybox from Molto Bene!. Only 50Ls for 3 rooms with changeable walls and flooring and seriously it made me squeal! All my pics were taken in it, and I know its super empty right now but I’m slowly starting to furnish it. I adore it so much and what started out as simply another studio for pictures is quickly turning into my new home.

Wait.. this is a fashion blog right? I forget sometimes with my rambling! Jacket is the newest release from Apple May Designs and at only 100Ls each it’s an incredible bargain, what’s even better is the fat pack of 5 colors is only 375Ls! I know, why buy separate when you can just fatpack it! The shoes are one of my faves and was bought a year ago it seems! I’ve never blogged them before and they definitely deserve the attention. Incredibly well made and selling for a super fair price, AW Designs is seriously WIN for these, plus they come in funky patterns, I happen to have on the Leopard (rawwwr). I did say i would try to not blog any 50Ls Friday items just yet, but i couldn’t help myself with Epoque’s baggy knit cap, its color changeable and too friggin adorable not for me to sport. Lastly, i need to send a shout out to the incredible Aranel Ah of Boom, her new cashmere sweaters are what yummie fall and winter dreams are made of! Gorgeously made and comes in a variety of colors and layers to mix and match with all your favorite clothing items.

Gotta say it, I’m feelin’ all sorts of cute, all this shopping and I didn’t even have to cut a bitch!

Seriously, all dressed up but no date in sight, so what does the forever SL-Single girl do?

A. Pick up random noobish men at clubs?
B. TP over your favorite guy friend who will stroke your ego and say it’s them and not you?
C. Run around shopping with your girlfriends and drain your Ls?
D. Log Off

I did a little bit of C and D.. honestly I don’t mind being single in SL.. except for the moments when I’m feeling all cute (as I am right now) and there isn’t a boy to nuzzle (virtually at least) my neck and tell me “you did good babe”. And I miss that at times… but very few and far in between I assure you! I will say that what I miss most about a relationship, RL and SL.. is that awesome connection where it’s just lots of talking, flirting and giggling. When someone just get’s you and you stay up til all hours of the night because sleep would just cut into the time you have. WTF, I think I just revealed to all my readers exactly how mushy and girly I REALLY am? DOH!

So check this dress, so incredibly sweet isn’t it? It’s by Artilleri but is no longer available, I didn’t realize that until after I put this look together and did the pictures, I feel a teensy bad, but next post, I think I’ll do an Artilleri that’s still available, so my bad, that was major fail on my part! I’m big into mixing textures, and it’s funny how some things just work! When I saw the neckscarf at Decoy a few months back during their massive sale, I just couldn’t pass it up. It’s very elegant in a way, and draws attention to your neck and face, which is always a good thing!  A scarf so pretty needs a updo to properly show it off, so I pulled out of my massive inventory of hairs this very sweet style from Dernier Cri.  I love the flawless sweep of the bangs and wished my hair in RL would behave like that!

I first met Jeff at a poetry reading, mostly because he has an awesome voice and even better words! I’ve been a Jeff fan since, and have enjoyed all of our convos as sporadic as they are! I’ve been bugging Jeff for a bit to let me interview him, and we finally found the time to sit down and talk. For this interview, I went more for what a guy thinks then my typical “boxers or briefs” type questions. I tried to keep it short, as we all know how I can ramble. Enjoy!

[14:26] Jeff Lowbeam: I’m easy-going in both really. Not too complicated. In my line of work I wear a tie a lot, but I have to say I rely on women around me to help me stay somewhat acceptable.

[14:27] Bubbles Komachi: So let’s tap into the guy psyche, because guys always think one way, and it’s almost always completely different from a girl’s point of view don’t you think? Agree or disagree, men pay escorts not for the sex but so they’ll go away in the morning?

[14:31] Jeff Lowbeam: I worked at first to try to keep it as close to RL as possible except that I wanted to have pure white hair. Then I modified as I went like most of us do.

[14:32] Bubbles Komachi: Woot! So why Secondlife? Did you have a purpose when you started, or was it basically “ooh looks like the sims, it could be fun” thought process
[14:33] Jeff Lowbeam: I read about poetry readings and thought “I could do that.” I totally did it for poetry exposure. Everything else I’ve gained was icing on the cake.
[14:33] Bubbles Komachi: and not the easy pixel sex? *gasps*
[14:34] Jeff Lowbeam: Nope…I haven’t even invested lindens in “cough, cough” you know.

[14:34] Bubbles Komachi: So what do you think about SL sex?
[14:35] Jeff Lowbeam: I don’t really get it.

[14:35] Jeff Lowbeam: Cartoon sex seems to be unfulfilling to me. I guess if the people were getting into the story or the voice more than the animation, I could see the motivation.
[14:37] Bubbles Komachi: So.. obviously my readers wanna know about your SL status. Single? Dating? Not looking? ball and chain?
[14:37] Jeff Lowbeam: Married and totally fulfilled with the marriage. We didn’t have an SL marriage, but she is my partner here as much as in RL.
[14:38] Bubbles Komachi: Awww..so what does she think of you being an SL hotboy?
[14:39] Jeff Lowbeam: She is very amused. Only because she finds it funny that I could get a big head over this.
[14:39] Bubbles Komachi: lol, how’s your head size now?
[14:39] Jeff Lowbeam: I think it’s ok. I’ve learned to adjust it to fit my hair.
[14:40] Bubbles Komachi: rofl! and back to the prims! So I know you said you starts SL because of poetry, what do you think of the poetry scene as a whole? and what projects do you have lined up in SL now if any?
[14:41] Jeff Lowbeam: I’d like to do a book to be released in SL and RL simultaneously. I’ve done initial chat about it, but that’s all. The scene as a whole: some really good stuff, some really bad stuff, much like a local poetry scene.
[14:41] Jeff Lowbeam: It’s hard to know if people really like your stuff because you can’t read facial expressions like in RL. I’ve also found many people are hesitant to be totally honest.
[14:42] Bubbles Komachi: do you think you’ve grown creatively because of your time on SL at all?
[14:42] Jeff Lowbeam: I think sometimes people in SL over read….they spend more time reading than writing. We hear the same poems over and over.
[14:43] Jeff Lowbeam: I do think I’ve grown creatively. Any time you force yourself to meet new ideas.
[14:43] Bubbles Komachi: Sweet. So what advice would you give a noob who’s just stepped into the game for the first time?
[14:44] Jeff Lowbeam: That it works best when it’s not a game. When it’s an avenue for you to expand your knowledge, life, or relationships, it can be great. Find a mentor who has been here awhile.
[14:46] Bubbles Komachi: Very true! Ok, last question Jeff, describe your experience here in 6 words!

I’m sick RL, so i figure bumming around SL and looking tragically hip would make me feel better, or at least distract me from the fact that i can’t breathe through my nose and i HATE mouth breathing! I’m so obsessed with mijn.t* right now, i found the store through another blog and popped in to check it out. There isnt much there yet, but what is, is incredibly adorable! I love this body suit for the simple fact that its made very well! The little bit of texture on the bodice as well as the lovely cap sleeve and turtleneck prim. I adore the look of an undershirt/corset on it as well. Plus the cut on the bottom makes my ass look SUPER DELICIOUS! And that is NEVER a bad thing! Did i mention this was their free color? Pop in and pick up her other colors as well as the other kick ass items she has.

The best thing about SL, is the fact that its 80 degrees year-round. Although, i technically can dress like this where i live, California lacks the 4 seasons, we just have hot.. then hotter and sometimes we have mild (hehe). The gold bangle i have on is from Earthtones, they’ve since changed the name of the shop to Lucas Lameth and i went through the store and didn’t see it for sale anymore, but i posted the link because Lucas has some kick ass jewelry!

Big suppppppper thanks to Bella Bombast of UZURI for dropping some kick ass jewelry, clothes and skins on me! If you haven’t been to Uzuri before, it’s a shop that specializes in Ethnic designs, and for me being a woman of color (woot for dark Asians!) i appreciate the bold colors, prints and jewelry pieces Bella makes. I always look for the bigger, chunkier funky jewelry and I get my fix here! I’m super addicted to her Malkia top at the moment. I love the Kente cloth-like design on the top, plus the colors are beautifully rich! I paired it with a pair of Zaara equally color luscious shorts and socks. I honestly feel like hitting the clubs in this outfit!

I want to take this time… to profess my love for 50Ls Friday! I personally hate hunts! The lag and half the time, the stuff is filled with, well.. things I don’t ever need! Plus at times with 100 stores or more, I lose my need to do the hunt after maybe.. store 5! With 50Ls Friday, most designers make something new and special for it, and i honestly don’t mind paying for anything if i love it! I’ve gotten to ‘discover’ a few stores through the program and have become a frequent shopper at them on regular days! Weekend Fever is also fantastic, a theme per week and designers taking that as a challenge, this past weekend it was Brown and some of the stuff i got was way too cute!

I’m showing off some of my 50Ls Friday goodies, I already own a few Pomski boots, but this Coffee Candy color is wayyyy too sweet to pass up! I’m feeling all sorts of Pretty n Bundled up, and got hit on by a girl while running around grabbing SLurls for this post. ROFL

Why have you not had sex with Philip Linden?
I think it’s honestly the timing, that man is so elusive, I can never work it so we’re in the same sim and on the same poseballs at the same time. It’s certainly not the lust because I absolutely lust after Philip’s sexy pixels.
